CMM was founded by Nathasassi Waritannatejo, (Khru Aer, AMI) in 2010.
Aer knew from an early age that she wanted to work with children.
She was determined to provide children like her with a positive experience of school and this inspired her to become a teacher.
Aer excelled in foreign languages and became the first person in her family to go to university. A healthy competitive streak pushed her to graduate in the top two of her year!
After working in a number of schools around Chiang Mai she went on to study Montessori teacher training at the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) teacher training college in London, England. She worked at a number of Montessori schools in London but always dreamed of returning home to build her own school.
Aer’s confidence and self-belief has taken her from life in a simple farming community to director of an international school. She is a Thai who values her culture and history – and it is for this reason she chose to build her school in the heart of the community that raised her with the values, ability and determination to succeed.
Khru Aer remains a central driving force at CMM. She is a source of inspiration for any child who has the desire and will to overcome challenges and achieve success in anything they choose to do in life.
